The Story of Black St. Louis

The STORY OF BLACK ST. LOUIS bus tour is an introduction to the rich Black history of the City of St. Louis from its founding in 1764 to contemporary times. It is an exploration of how Black resilience and resistance are woven into the history of our dear city. The tour is specifically designed to invoke deep reflection about how the St. Louis narrative has preserved its Black history to-date, and to stimulate conversation about what can be done to improve the veneration of African American contributions to the region’s identity. The tour visits 6-9 landmarks of Black resistance and activism throughout downtown, midtown and North St. Louis City.
